I have made this cake for many family birthdays. I replace the sprinkles on top with chocolate sauce drizzle and mini chocolate chips; a technique I borrow from her recipe for “Baily’s Chocolate Poke Cake”.

The cake ends up looking and tasting great, especially considering that it’s made largely with unskilled labor and not fancy frosting techniques.
